Hi there,

My name is Aili, and I am the owner of Atelier Astrid & Antoinette and creator of the brand Astrid & Antoinette, named after my mother and grandmother.

I am a self-thought artist that never stops learning.

I LOVE visiting vintage markets and antique shops to get inspired by the items, how they were made and why they last through time.

Although the above may make you suspect I wear vintage corsets, that is hardly the case.
I am happy to live 'on the part' (unfortunately, there still are) of a modern connected world, where women can wear pants and have jobs, hospitals are optimized and being different will not end me on a stake.
I prefer wearing tees and hoodies & like street art and science fiction.

Sadly, nowadays, most things are produced in masses, not to last, but to throw away, so you must buy more.
The result is not only a pile of waste per person, but also a waste in that everything is starting to lack personality.
If we continue this way, the reference to our decade will be one of decay.

Besides the 'necessary',

I only buy things that add to my personality and have meaning.
And I could not find them easily.

So I started to paint & print my own shirts, making jewellery and fine art.
I thought I was not unique in this way of shopping, so I also wanted to share the things I made with the rest like me.

My philosophy;

Items that have meaning are unlikely to get thrown away easily.

Therefore every creation I make tells a story.
The brand is autonomous in every part of the process.

Combining old designs and ideas with modern materials is the core of Atelier Astrid & Antoinette.
My collections are small, numbered limited-editions or one-of-a-kind hand-painted pieces.
I aim to bring handcraft back as a counterforce to mass production.
Therefore, I don't have stocks piling up; every order is made on demand.

While working, I always get accompanied by my little friend.
No, not the little friend like in Scarface but a furry one.
Her name is Lilou.
I wish a Lilou up on everyone with a heart for animals.
She is ultra small but is not to look over:)
I also am a happy mother who is lucky to have a very critical yet honest daughter helping along when help is needed.

My designs are for everyone who likes what they see and prefers to own something qualitatively unique, made with much dedication and heart.
